“You’re Still Lovable: The Power of Safe Presence in Overwhelm”
When we’re young, we need more than solutions — we need comfort.
We need to be held in our feelings before we’re rushed into fixing them. I know many of us weren’t - because I was one of those “many”.
Instead, we learned to perform, achieve, and figure things out quickly so we wouldn’t feel like a burden.
We internalised the message that being “too emotional” was wrong…
And now, as women (and men, too) running businesses, doing life as single gals (sometimes), and just feeling like we can express our true selves (even if we do have an extra wine or two!), is so important. But instead, we carry the weight of that emotional suppression every day.
The truth?
Understanding isn’t enough.
We need space to feel.
When something seemingly small triggers a big response — like a friend dismissing your words, a comment that cuts a little too deep, or a moment of unexpected rejection — it’s often not about the moment itself.
It’s about what that moment touches in you.
Maybe it’s the younger version of you who felt invisible or not enough.
Maybe it’s the part of you that still wonders, “Am I too much? Or not enough?… or even “Who the heck am I when I’m not treading on bloody eggshells?!””
What we really need in those moments isn’t just advice or a mindset shift.
We need someone who can sit beside us and say:
“I hear you, I totally get that. Of course that hurt. It’s okay to feel sad. But it doesn’t mean you’re not good enough.”
We need to be acknowledged!
We need people who can mirror us, witness us, hold us without trying to rush us out of our pain.
We need safe, attuned presence.
And if we didn’t receive that growing up — we can begin practicing it now, for ourselves and for each other.
Because emotional safety isn’t a luxury. It’s the foundation for inner peace, resilience, and deep connection.
🖤 You’re still lovable, even when you feel messy.
🖤 You’re still worthy, even when you’re sad, triggered, or tender.
🖤 You don’t have to be “over it” to be okay.
This is the work.
This is the healing.
This is how we start telling a different story, from a place of deep truth and wholeness.
